Managing Director
William has made a great contribution during his time at Plumen. He possesses a good engineering and a sense of design - both of which he can combine to great effect. He is very good at finding technical solutions without effecting the form of the product.
William's main achievement was to design and deliver technical drawings for a range of lighting accessories. He has also done 3D modelling for several installations and trade show stands, developed new packaging solutions, assisted with product testing and generally helped out wherever possible.

William joined our Product Development team in May 2014 on a three month internship to help develop a new range of lamps & accessories but rapidly proved his worth across a range of disciplines & joined us as a product development contractor until November 2014.
Product development work included designing & prototyping new products, communicating directly with our Creative Director & manufacturing partners in China. This involved identifying high value but cost-sensitive construction methods & ensuring legal compliance worldwide.

My work revolves around developing new products (conceptualisation and presentation to clients) and bespoke projects (alteration of current product and content production). After project approval, I supervise in-house samples or closely liaise with our factory in China to insure smooth delivery. My tasks include the development of our own light engines, on-board electronics and heat management system. Before a new product launch, I make datasheets, instructions and testing to comply with national and international regulations. For trade shows, I take part in building a stand to showcase our products.

Researched and developed an ultra-narrow beam, pure white light focus system. Commissioned, manufactured and installed in a 100 sqm room at an Art Show. The modules had to be cheap, easy to manufacture and easily serviceable. The proposed design exceeded the client benchmark and expectation. +375 manufacture modules are currently in use by the famous post-digital art group Random International (London).

Ultralight belt drive conversion with pulley tensioner. CNC stainless steel luggage system carrier. 3D mapped chassis, design and CNC manufacture of a quick-release rack system. Adjustable children rear passenger foot peg. Moulded leather pouch with stainless steel armour and quick-release triple lock system.

Arduino module programmed to control a custom made high voltage driver, GPS tracker and magnetic encoder. Re-mapped data displayed on old stock linear + hexadecimal Nixie tube made in USSR. Housed, installed and tested on a Vespa moped.
